Valentines
Valentines Day 14th February!
Valentine's Day is a time for the friends, family and for lovers. Therefore I decided to dedicate a section to this special day, with special love songs, poems and ideas for that special someone!
Nobody knows, with certainty, the true origin of Valentine's Day. One of the many stories is that the name comes of a Roman priest called Valentine, who if became to mártir in 270 a.D.
The traditions of this religious holiday had been linked with known occasions mainly known as “the Roman Feast of Lupercalia”.
This festival was dedicated to the God Pastoral Lupercus and the Goddess of Love Juno. Also known as the Goddess of Women and Marriage.
The holiday 14th of February was a holiday dedicated to Juno. The following day, 15th of February, began the “Festival of Lupercalia”, which was dedicated to many Gods and Goddesses.
The boys and girls lived completely separated. During the Festival the boys would pick by luck the name of a girl from a vase, becoming partners during the Festival. The pairs would then dance and playe together.
Sometimes
the pairs were remaind together through out the year, falling in love and
some even marrying.
Nowadays, Valentines Day is a chance them people to express consideration, love and friendship not only for boyfriends, but also for teachers, colleagues, parents and friends.

Valentine's Day é uma época para os amigos, a família e para os namorados. Por essa razão decidi dedicar uma secção a este dia especial, com muisca linda de amor, poemas e ideas para esse alguem especial!
Ninguém sabe,
com certeza, a origem de Valentine's Day. Uma das
muitas histórias é que o nome vem de um padre de Roma
chamado Valentine, que se tornou um mártir em 270 a.D.
Os costumes deste feriado religioso ficaram interligados com ocasiões mais conhecidas como o "the Roman Feast of Lupercalia".
Este festival era dedicado ao Deus Pastoral Lupercus e à Deusa do Amor Juno. Também conhecida como a Deusa das Mulheres e do Casamento.
O feriado de 14 de Fevereiro era um feriado dedicado a Juno. No dia seguinte, 15 de Fevereiro, começava o "Festival de Lupercalia", que era dedicado a muitos Deuses e Deusas.
Os meninos e meninas viviam completamente separados. Durante o Festival os meninos tiravam à sorte um nome de menina de um vaso, tornando-se parceiros durante o Festival. Os pares dançavam e brincavam juntos.
Às vezes os pares ficavam juntos durante o ano todo, apaixonando-se algumas vezes e casando.
Hoje em dia, Valentines Day é uma oportunidade para as pessoas expressarem consideração, amor e amizade não só para namorados, mas também para professores, colegas, pais e amigos.
